Halo 3 is helping sell Xbox 360s

My friend and future brother-in-law Nick picked up the new Halo 3. He’s also the recent owner of a 52″ HD JVC and I have to say, WOW! This game looks amazing, especially in high-def. The audio is this killer ambient musical score, which makes the game feel ominous and exciting.

One of the things Nick mentioned he was excited about was the fact that you can create your own team uniforms now. I guess Red vs. Blue is going to need to change their name. :)

Nick told me he bought Halo 3 from GameStop and the guy who helped him said they’ve sold over 300 copies of Halo since last night and sold out of their Xbox 360 units. The Seattle store sold over 600 copies and sold out of their Xbox 360s too. He’s in the GvL clan, and all of them are playing Halo 3 right now. In fact, there are 15,521 people around the world playing it (there’s a cool map that shows dots where people are playing and it’s amazing to see)!

I know this was a hugely anticipated game, but it’s kind of wild to think about the fact that this game is so huge that people are buying the Xbox 360 just to play Halo 3! It certainly shows the importance of securing software title deals to a gaming system.

Well, enough of this dang blogging, I’m going to try my hand at Halo 3. :D
