TED talks
I’ve known about these for some time now having heard about them from various friends. I’m referring to the TED talks, which is an annual conference that brings together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers to give the talk of their lives. I thought I would post a few of the ones I’ve seen and enjoyed.
This one is about a revolutionary new photo connection platform that will change the world:
This one is about the rapid developments in technology and some of the potential implications:
They have a very impressive line-up of speakers including Al Gore, Jane Goodall, and Brian Greene. Check out more of the recorded TED talks.

Glad that you found and posted these!
I have been using technology to get onto trouble and totally enjoying it. Met quite a few really nice tech savvy geeks on stickam. The chat rooms are like AOL was long ago but some are cool. People regularly gather to mix music and chat, not all are teens, it is great fun. Of course there are pervs but I have found them easy to avoid and boot out. People who post on YouTube also go there, anyway just a way to bring the party to my house while watching the kids sleep.

TED’s the shit. Good lookin’ out posting these here.
Here’s an interview with TED founder Richard Saul Wurman from my site frontwheeldrive.com circa 1999. My friend and colleague Mark Wieman did it (check out his stuff as well).

Sabrina, you were one of the first people to tell me about TED. I guess I’ll have to check out Stickam now too. :)
Roy, of course your site has an interview with the TED founder. Does this mean you can get us into next year’s talks?

I feel honored that I impress you ;-)
If you do go to the TED consider yourself obligated to take me.

Hey Justin. I’ve been to a few TED conferences.
If you’d like to go next year, let me know. I got you covered.

TED February 27-March 1, 2008 Monterey, California
Is sold out. It will be amazing:
Next year will be our most ambitious attempt yet to deliver, by answering questions like “Who are we?” “What is art?” “What is love?” and “What is evil?” in unexpected ways.
I have answered those questions so incompletely in my own life… Not sure if it is fair to expect they would have the answers- the best part is what you discover along the way.
I am sure there are some damn good after parties!

Damn! We’ll have to crash the talks pretending to be staff. Maybe they really do need volunteer help…
From Justin on June 19th, 2007 at 9:52 am
I am game to crash it, but it is close enought for me to drive there. :-P
BTW
Are you in Mexico? Update your twitter thing ;-)

I /wish/ I could get us in. Besides, Richard Saul Wurman left TED recently.

Listening to Kurzweil is bittersweet. He scares, excites and fascinates me.
